FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chilling Weekend of True Crime Coming to the Peninsula in August

[Port Orchard, WA] – [June 9] – Notorious USA* in partnership with Bainbridge Performing Arts, the Admiral Theatre, and other Kitsap Peninsula venues, will kick off the inaugural West Sound Crime Con, a series of events and experiences exploring true crime cases with noted detectives, authors, legal experts and more.

“True crime has never been hotter,” said Gregg Olsen, Kitsap author and creator behind the weekend. “Podcasts, streaming services have joined the usual suspects – books and TV – in telling the stories of mysteries and crimes. This August we’re adding to the conversation by spotlighting Northwest crimes with an array of speakers, events, and experiences that genre fans won’t want to miss.”

Friday, August 1, 2025, 7 P.M. – Bainbridge Peforming Arts, Bainbridge Island - Gregg Olsen in converstaion with Andrea Dunlop

Gregg Olsen will launch his latest true crime, Out of the Woods, in conversation with Andrea Dunlop at Bainbridge Performing Arts. Out of the Woods examines the Idaho kidnapping of Shasta Groene and her brother Dylan. (Publisher’s Weekly: As in Olsen’s previous works of nonfiction, there’s plenty of rigorous research on display, but it’s his empathetic consideration of what happens to high-profile victims after news cameras stop rolling that sets this apart.) Dunlop, a Seattle author known for her work in Town & Country, Bustle, and People; she hosts the acclaimed podcast Nobody Should Believe Me and authored the bestselling and critically acclaimed true crime, The Mother Next Door.
